Hi all!
I have an anglesounds doppler on the way yey!
I was just wondering if anyone has any tips for using it at 15 weeks (where to look, how hard to press, how to lie etc...) Also I don't think mine comes with gel and was wondering if I can use baby oil or bio oil or something?
Thanks

I used my angelsounds at 15 weeks with my first daughter and 8 weeks with my 2nd.
I found it immediatley at 15 weeks, (perhaps because i was eating an ice lolly)
you can use baby oil or bio oil too
Best to lie down and press firmly, around the bikini line (can be low down!)

Hiya
Ive been listening to my Bubba on my Angelsounds since 10 weeks.
My tips would be.. Always have a full bladder (i cant normally hear it without, altho i've heard some ladies on eher say they can only hear it on an empty bladder)
Mines normally quite central, (but sometimes just off to one side) when i was earlier on it was right on my pubic bone, but now its normally sort of halfway between my pubic bone and my belly button.
I always use baby oil, i couldnt find at all with gel.
Lay flat... and don't panic...occasionally i can't find mine, but if i move about a bit and try again i normally can.
Good luck...I am in love with mine!

Just put it below your belly button (just as sb22 mentioned), and you will hear it… It’s quite easy at 15 weeks. I found my baby’s hb at 8 weeks first time...

I think they can move around a bit more at 15 weeks, so you might need to chase bubs around a bit. I use cocoa butter, so anything works really. Have fun.

My midwife checked mine the other day and found it about 4-5cm below my tummy button, kinda halfway between pubic bone and naval really. She found it straight away. Quite funny as the doctor at my surgery couldnt find it at all! Good luck x

Our angelsounds arrived on Weds so I was very excited to start using it that evening.....but try as I might I couldn't find the hb I was pressing pretty hard and using lots of gel. Got very frustrated and disappointed, and OH got in his 'I told you so' as he wasn't convinced about getting one in case I got upset.
Anyway, the next night I tried again (on my own!) and used loads of gel and placed the doppler right on my bikini line (hairline) which was lower than I'd looked before....also pressed much more lightly than the previous time
and found it immediately!! Had to then hold the position for 10mins until hubby got home and also listened to it
It was amazing to hear the hb and really brought home that I'm growing a human being
Couple of things about the angelsounds though:
- the one we've got (pink and white) has the battery compartment on the back and this has a slit in it which the gel got all into - bad design imo. I've now taped over that to avoid happening again.
- I didn't have a full bladder either time and my scans request an empty bladder too (in fact had to empty if further at the 12wk scan as my bladder was getting in the way apparently!)
- careful when moving the doppler around, it's very loud and can hurt your ears!
Most of all, be patient (more than I was!) and don't worry if you can't find it immediately. Enjoy!

Thanks! Yes I am worried about this too as DH wasn't sure about getting one for the same reason! So i just hope I can find it!!

I got mine from Amazon and it cost about £20 - I also bought gel from different seller for about £2.50, both were free delivery
