I have one and it works fine, but the heart rate display tends to be inaccurate and it will often give totally random readings even when it's not picking up anything. If you want to figure out the heart rate then you should have a clock or stopwatch on hand when you use the doppler.

I have one and have been pleased with it. It is a touchy little bugger tho.. so take your time searching for baby.. don't be upset if it takes you a few moments to find them as well. I know right where my baby lays , and it still takes me a few moments some times to get it just right... Ive learned that even tilting it a little up or little down in the same exact spot can give a little better results... Good luck and hope you hear that beautiful sound soon

I have one and it works well. I first heard bub's hb around 9 weeks. It took some searching and didn't happen everytime that early on, but around 11 weeks I could find it pretty easily.

I have one and I really like it. But I second the comment about the display - it doesn't display the heart rate accurately.

My Sonoline B usually just shows random values between 100-130bpm. I'm not sure what it's picking up, but that's nowhere close to my heart rate or my baby's.
However now that my baby is a bit bigger, I can sometimes get accurate readings if s/he is in a good position and staying still. That's not always the case though, so I usually just use a stopwatch anyway.

Love mine! Found HB at 8 weeks and few days! I did have to send it back for a new one because it stopped working (something with the wire). I probably used it to much. LOL

In order to have accurate reading keep it on setting 1. There is setting 1, 2, and 3. I always kept it on setting 1 and got an accurate reading every time.

I just bought a sonoline b second hand so it didn't have a instruction manual. I found the heart beat fairly quickly and it sounded very similar to what i heard at the doctor's office. But, the LCD display never displayed a HR number, just 3 dashes. Anyone have an idea why this is?
Thanks.

I always keep in mode 1 too, but the readings were never accurate until I was 15+ weeks along. Either mode 1 or mode 2 should be fine though -- mode 2 just gives an average value instead of a real-time one.

You might be in mode 3, which is kind of a manual stopwatch mod (I never use it so I don't really know how it works). Try pressing the leftmost button and make sure there's a 1 in the upper left corner of the display.

I think I was in mode 1. Could it be the heart beat wasn't loud enough for the doppler to count it?
